FEMAB project

FEMAB Project

In the FEMAB Project (a Spanish acronym that stands for Micro-instrument Anti-bruxism ferule) we propose the use of instrumented splints in order to detect and register the duration and intensity event of inter-dental pressure and identify properly problem induced by grinding or tightly clenching the upper and lower teeth. This device is intended to avoid or reduce the consequences of this pathology, like: wear of the teeth, problems in muscles, tissues and other jaw structures, earache and headache, hurt in the teeth, and disorders in the jaw joints. In figure 1 initial prototype is shown.
