João Valente


João Ricardo Pereira Valente has born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1982. He received is M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the New University of Lisbon (Faculty of Science and Technology) in 2008. From 2007 to 2008 he was visitor student in the SIED Lab (Intelligent Systems for Emergencies and Civil defence Laboratory), from the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where he carried the development of his M.Sc. thesis. In 2008 he joined the Robotics & Cybernetics group from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (in the present CAR CSIC-UPM), where he is currently researcher. Additionally, he is likewise PhD. candidate in Robotics and Automation at the same University.

Research interests (non-exhaustive):

- Mini/Micro Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
- Multi-Robot systems (MRS)
- Guidance, Navigation, and control (GNC)
